NO MORE NEED FOR DREAMS
Sean Laurence
And there it was,
what my life had been reduced to.
In a moment of weakness,
in a moment of greif.
Nothing left,
but the music from my memories.
The silent earth around me,
baron wasteland of what was once my home.
No one left,
just me, to live out this life alone.
Free from lives and thier tangles.
If only I could feel it once more.
Savor it one last time,
a goodbye kiss, and a second lighter one,
for the long road ahead.
The past Fades, like people do.
Becoming lost in a sea of time.
Seconds like hours,
and years like minutes.
But there it was,
what a life can surmise,
in a moment of regret,
to a moment of forgiveness.

The UN declared "Never Again," after the Holocaust, but since then there have
been Genocides in Bosnia, Cambodia, Rwanda and now, Darfur. This piece is part
